What would life look like with real relief, not just temporary fixes? Yes, you heard it right. We offer Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Implantation, an advanced, minimally invasive solution to help you regain comfort and mobility.
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) implantation is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a small device called a Peripheral Nerve Stimulator to deliver mild electrical pulses to specific nerves, helping block pain signals at the source. It’s an effective option for patients with chronic nerve pain who haven’t found relief through conservative treatments or other treatments.
At WaPASS, a trusted pain and spine clinic in Washington, we specialize in evaluating your condition, performing a safe trial, and offering long-term solutions through expert implantation and personalized follow-up care. Our goal is to restore your comfort and improve your quality of life, without the need for major surgery.

At WaPASS, our Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) implantation begins with a thorough evaluation of your nerve pain, including physical examination and imaging to identify the affected nerve. If you’re a suitable candidate, we start with a trial phase where a thin electrode is placed near the target nerve using a needle under local anesthesia. This electrode is connected to an external peripheral nerve stimulator that you’ll wear for about a week to assess how well it relieves your pain. If the trial provides significant relief—typically 50% or more, we proceed with the permanent implantation. This involves placing the electrode and a small pulse generator just beneath the skin in a quick outpatient procedure. After implantation, we fine-tune the device settings to your comfort and provide follow-up care to ensure lasting, effective pain relief.

The implanted device is very small and discreet. Most people can’t see it at all once it’s placed—so you can live your life without anyone knowing it’s there.
Yes! You’ll have a small remote that lets you adjust the stimulation settings to fit your comfort level throughout the day.
PNS targets specific peripheral nerves (outside the spinal cord), making it ideal for more localized pain, while SCS affects broader areas by stimulating the spinal cord. We help determine which option fits your condition best.
